'All Too Common': Instagram User's Dash Cam Records Man Being Repeatedly Hit With Steel Rod In Bengaluru

Day after a woman shared a terrifying incident of three men chasing her car in Karnataka’s Bengaluru, another incident of brutal attack has surfaced from the city’s Kalyan Nagar area.

In the purported video, shared on Instagram by a user named @_cavalier_fantome, a man was being allegedly beaten up with a steel rod in a ruthless manner, following which the attacker walked away.

The video was recorded on the Instagram user’s dash camera. VIDEO:

The user wrote, “Today, during my drive near Kalyan Nagar, Bangalore, I witnessed a horrifying incident that shook me to the core. On the main road, I saw a person being viciously attacked with a steel rod, while the assailant walked away without a care in the world.”

The user said that this was just a “glimpse” of the violence that has been becoming ” all too common” in Bengaluru.

“I’m deeply concerned about the safety of our community. Is Bangalore still a safe place to call home? It’s heartbreaking to witness such brutality on a daily basis.I urge the authorities of the Karnataka government to take immediate action and ensure that justice is served for the victim,” the post further read.

Saying that “We cannot allow such acts of violence to go unpunished. Please share this post and help spread the word. Together, we can make our city safer for everyone,” the user also tagged the Bangalore city police and the traffic police.

However, the video from this Instagram account was later shared on the microblogging X by @WazBLR. Terming the incident to be “shocking”, the X user said “I’ve no idea if he survived. @BlrCityPolice look into this.”x

Responding to the post, Bengaluru City Police said that they have taken note of the incident and have informed the Banaswadi police station for necessary action. “In case of distress/emergency situation, dial #Namma 112,” they added.

On Monday, Bengaluru police arrested three men after a video of them aggressively following a car on a scooter went viral on social media.

The scooter-borne men were seen chasing the car, banging on its windows and trying to open its door.

The terrified woman in the video can be heard calling a government helpline number and saying, “They are following us, they are punching the vehicle.”

She also said, “He is abusing us. He is opening the door.”

The incident took place on Hosur Road in the city’s Koramangala area. The city police responding to the incident said, “Thank you for bringing this incident to our attention. We take road safety and incidents of road rage very seriously. This is to inform that immediate action was taken immediately & an FIR has been registered. The accused have been apprehended. @BlrCityPolice.”

South East Police DCP CK Baba said that three accused were arrested an FIR had been registered in connection to the incident.
