Amid the ongoing probe in the killing of the four-year-old child, the Goa Police on Wednesday found two empty bottles of a cough syrup in the service apartment where the CEO of the Bengaluru-based start-up killed her son. As per the police, the empty bottles of cough syrup indicated that the accused, Suchana Seth, had planned the murder and gave him a heavy dose of medicine.
The postmortem has revealed the child was smothered to death either with a cloth or a pillow, news agency PTI reported citing the officials.
The accused woman, Suchana Seth, allegedly killed her son in the apartment at Candolim in Goa and stuffed the body in a bag before taking it to neighbouring Karnataka in a taxi. She was arrested from Chitradurga in Karnataka on Monday night and brought to Goa on Tuesday.
How Did Suchana Killed Her 4-Year-Old Son?
Revealing details about the murder, Dr Kumar Naik, a government doctor in Karnataka who conducted the post-mortem of the kid said that the accused “smothered” her four-year-old son to death. He further informed that no wounds or signs of struggle were found on the body of the four-year-old. He added that a pillow or a wire is likely to have been used.
“The boy was killed more than 36 hours earlier. He was strangled to death or what we call smothering. It doesn’t look like the child was strangulated using hands. It looks like a pillow or a wire or some other material was used,” the doctor said.
Suchana Arrested By Goa Police
Suchana checked into the service apartment with her son on January 6 and after staying there for two days, she went to Bengaluru in a taxi on Monday. A day after the crime came to light, she was brought to Goa from Karnataka and was remanded in police custody for six days.
Meanwhile, the building that houses several service apartments at Candolim in North Goa on Tuesday prohibited outsiders from entering the premises after the murder of the four-year-old child was reported in one of these facilities. The owner of this building ‘Sol Banyan Grande’ has instructed the security guards not to allow anyone, especially media persons, inside.
Other guests, who are currently staying in the premises, continue to spend their vacations at the property.
