HYDERABAD: Citing threat to his life, former MP and YSR Congress leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy approached the High Court on Monday with a request for direction to the state government to continue the security provided by five gunmen or PSOs (personal security officers) to him.He alleged that the government had recently withdrawn the security in order to prevent his movements in public and it gave an opportunity to his rival group to eliminate him.Nagi Reddy, husband of Shobha Nagi Reddy who is contesting the bypolls on YSRC ticket from Allagadda, said in his writ plea that the government’s decision to withdraw security was illegal and contrary to the earlier directions of the High Court. In 2005, the High Court had granted interim orders directing the Kurnool SP to provide security. Accordingly, security was restored with five PSOs. Recently, the Kurnool SP had withdrawn the security to him on  the charge that he was misusing his PSOs and indulging in unlawful activities, Nagi Reddy said. The petition is likely to come up for hearing on May 23.
