The youngsters M Ajay Kumar (19) and M Naresh (20) are both cousins and residents of Pedawaltair. While the former is taking a diploma course in computer sciences, the latter is an engineering student in the same stream and are both students of the Sanketika Vidya Parishad Engineering College. On Saturday last, representatives of Actimus Biosciences informed them of the company’s bio-equivalence tests and sought volunteers. The students did agree to volunteer and promised to visit Actimus facility along with its representatives.According to Ajay Kumar and Naresh, the Actimus staff seized their mobiles as soon as they entered the facility and took them to the Vijaya Medical Centre where a few tests were conducted on them. The duo were brought back to Actimus. After the medical centre’s reports found them to be perfectly healthy, doctors at Actimus gave them a tablet and collected blood samples after every 30-40 minutes. The duo were released on Monday morning. The boys’ parents lodged a complaint with the III Town police alleging that the representatives of Actimus had forcibly taken their children and released them only on Monday. They further said the health condition of the boys was not well.Even before the police reached the spot, relatives of the duo staged a protest in front of the Actimus Biosciences. Assistant Vice-President of Business Strategy and Finance of Actimus Biosciences, BV Srinivasa Rao said they had the approval of the Drugs Controller General of India for bio-equivalence tests and blamed miscommunication between the students and their parents for the allegations.Actimus Bio offers an extensive range of clinical services including study design, and project management.
