BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda promised that his government will provide developmental and financial aid to the the pending problems in Magadi, Ramanagara and surrounding areas on Sunday while inaugurating social work and mahotsav of Sri Ranganatha Swami temple.This was the CM’s reply to H C Balakrishna, corporator of Magadi, who pontificated many pending developmental projects in and around Magadi town.The issues Balakrishna raised were water supply from Hemavati river, restoration work of Kempe Gowda fort and temple sanctum tower and inclusion of Magadi and Ramanagara to the list of drought-prone areas.The CM formally accepted the list of demands from Balakrishna. Release of Hemavati River and Drinking Water The CM said that he will order officials to scrutinise the position in Magadi.“I will have the officials check on the amount of rainfall this area has received.Based on the reports, I will take action on whatever needs to be done,” he said.He added that his government will not betray those suffering from drought.“Almost Rs. 40 lakh has been sanctioned towards this already.The drop in drought by 20 per cent makes me proud of my government’s work,” he said.The CM added that he will hold a meeting with concerned officials and elected representatives from Magadi and Ramanagara over shortage of drinking water.“I will personally meet all the concerned personnel to contemplate the next mode of action,” he said.Magadi’s famous Kempe Gowda has not seen development for years now.Towards this, CM Gowda announced additional funds in the future.“Around Rs. 3 crore have been invested already on the fort.An additional Rs 3 crore will be provided by the government,” he said.Regarding the dilapidated condition of the temple’s sanctum tower.“We have released Rs 50 lakh towards restoration of the tower.This is apart from the Muzrai Department’s contribution of Rs 21 lakh,” he said
