pre-summoning evidence in the case.
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday took cognizance of the criminal defamation case filed by Lt Gen (retd) Tejinder Singh against Army chief Gen VK Singh and four others. The court listed the matter for April 10 for recording
pre-summoning evidence in the case.
"I am an allottee in Adarsh society. I am an honorary member. There is no complaint against me. I offered bribe on behalf of Tatra is vague and baseless allegation," Tejinder Singh said.
In the petition Tejinder Singh accused General VK Singh and four others of misusing their official position to level false charges against him.
The petition was filed after the Army Chief had alleged that a lobbyist, who had 'just' retired, offered him a bribe of Rs 14 crore to clear a defence deal.
In his defamation suit filed in a Magistrate's court, Tejinder Singh had asked the court to summon and initiate proceedings against Gen Singh for making the 'libellous' statement against him in the media.
