The police has sought narco analysis test of an arrested person in the hope to get a breakthrough in the alleged murder of two minor girls in Deoghar district.
"A constable, Sudhir Kumar has been arrested in connection with the case. We have urged the court (in Deogarh) to carry out a narco analysis test. We are putting in all efforts to get a breakthrough into the incident," Jharkhand Police Chief Rajeev Kumar told reporters here on Thursday.
He was replying to a query on the two school girls, whose bodies had been recovered from a pond under Jasidih police station in Deogarh district of the Santhal Pargana region last month and the families believe that they were murdered. It appeared, the DGP added, the girls had been murdered after facing some atrocity and then their bodies were thrown in the pond.
"A CID team is investigating the matter. Several senior police officials and I myself went to Deogarh. Even K Vijay Kumar, Advisor to the Governor, had also gone there. We are doing every possible thing to get a breakthrough in the case," he said.
Governor Syed Ahmed had on June 8 announced one lakh rupees to those who could inform the circumstances and names of the accused involved in the gruesome incident.
