NALGONDA: A murder suspect was found dead in the computer room of Atmakur (S) police station on Saturday. According to police, K Komaraiah (30), a resident of Yepuru village was accused in the killing of one G Veeraiah. Police took Komaraiah into custody on Friday. On Saturday morning, he was found hanging from the ceiling of the computer room inside the police station. Police then shifted his body to a hospital for conducting post-mortem. However, Komaraiah’s wife, Anjamma, alleged that her husband hanged himself unable to bear the harassment of the police. Later, CPIML new democracy leaders and Komaraiah’s relatives staged a dharna in front of the police stations for nearly five hours. Following this, district SP Naveen Gulati visited the police stations and suspended SI Dharma Reddy and duty guard Ram Koti immediately.Speaking to mediapersons, Naveen Gulati said that Veeraiah ended his life afraid of the fact that he had illegal contacts with Veeraiah’s family. This was revealed by Komaraiah during earlier police enquiry, SP said. Additional SP Lakshmikantha Rao will probe the case.
