BANGALORE: The over thousand year old Rambhapuri Veerashaiva mutt, located at Balehonnur in Chickmagalur district, will conduct its annual Navarathri celebrations in Rajajinagar in Bangalore from September 28.Addressing the press here on Friday, Housing Minister V Somanna said that leaders of all political parties and devotees of the mutt would participate in the 10-day cultural and religious programme, which would be conducted at the Rajajinagar Ramamandir Ground.Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will inaugurate the event; JD(S) leader H D Deve Gowda, Union ministers S M Krishna, Mallikarjuna Kharge and Veerappa Moily and former CM B S Yeddyurappa will also participate in the event.The mutt has chosen to hold the event in Bangalore after a gap of over three decades. Religious discourses and cultural programmes would mark the ten-day celebrations; renowned Carnatic and Hindustani music artistes, dance and theatre personalities will also participate in the celebrations which would be attended by over one lakh people, Somanna said.Sri Vibhuthi mutt seer and theatre personality Nagaraj Swamy were also present at the media meet.
