CHENNAI: Nearly every visitor to Express Avenue Mall on Saturday evening was in for a special treat, as Bajaj Pulsar’s Stuntmania hit the city, marking 10 years since the bike’s launch. Performing breathtaking stunts that left the audience asking for more was professional stunt riding group Ghost Ryderz. Performing wheelies, stoppies, burnouts and more, five of the Ghost Ryderz - Brutus, Neo, Dauntless, Phenom and Damboy - kept the audience spellbound with their flamboyant skills. They waved to the crowd during their synchronised stunts and performed to the Pulsar Stuntmania soundtrack. One of the riders picked up a soft drink can from the ground while riding and handed it over to a delighted audience member.Ghost Ryderz was started by a team of young bikers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and now comprises close to 70 members across the state, with representatives in other cities, including Chennai. The stunt group uses only Pulsars, and Bajaj is their official sponsor. This was the ninth performance of the Stuntmania tour of the country. Guruprasad Rajaram, zonal manager - TN, Bajaj Auto, said, “These guys are our customers and have been loyal to us throughout. Who better to represent us than them?” In the light of safety issues plaguing road users, he said, “The purpose of this demonstration is to show that special gear and special occasions are required to do stunts.”
