Tribute to Tagore

CHENNAI: Saila Sudha, an academy of dance that has been propagating traditional Indian classical dances like Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi for the last 24 years, is conducting its fourth National Art Confluence on September 3 and 4. The academy has dedicated this year to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. Titled Remembering Tagore, the art confluence will feature performances by well-known and reputed artists and art troupes from all over India, such as Roja Kannan (Bharathanatyam), Kumuchini Lakhia (Kathak), Neena Prasad (Mohiniyattam) and the Gotipua group from Bhubaneshwar.
