CHENNAI: Surveillance cameras on Thursday helped Narcotic Control Bureau sleuths nab a drug smuggler, who tried to evade arrest by hiding a bag containing Rs 25 lakh-worth ephedrine in the airport restroom.Acting on a tip-off, NCB official started screening all passengers, who were set to fly to Kuala Lumpur on the Air Asia flight at 8.30 am. Amjad Khan, who was carrying the drug in his hand baggage, slipped away to the restroom and left the bag there before undergoing checking.When no drug was found during the screening, the team allowed all passengers to proceed to the departure lounge. At this time, Khan went to the restroom again to retrieve the bag and the NCB sleuths apprehended him, sources said.
