Founded by Rashi Anand in 2012, over the years, Fashion for a Cause by Lakshyam has brought various prominent designers, celebrities, and other prominent individuals from diverse fields under one roof, to raise funds for the education of less-privileged children.
Kickstarting 2024 on a celebratory note, Fashion For A Cause by Lakshyam will have Rohit Bal, Shantnu & Nikhil and Varun Bahl present their collections at the event on February 11th at National Craft Museum, Pragati Maidan New Delhi.
Celebrating 12 years of Lakshyam, Rashi Anand, started the NGO at the age of 21, with the motive to uplift children and women of at-risk communities through education, employment, and resource mobilisation.
Speaking about what’s special this year, Rashi Anand says, “Every year we aim to take care of the education of 100 kids and this year we gave ourselves a target of 200 kids. We are doing the show after 1.5 years and we also did miss having our shows during covid too. This time we were able to collaborate with the best of fashion designers and brands along with FICCI YFLO [Young Ficci Ladies Organisation].”
Varun Bahl: Fashion for a Cause by Lakshyam has been a huge part of my life
For this year’s Fashion for a Cause show, Varun Bahl will be showcasing Inner Bloom and Secret Garden, his most acclaimed couture Collections.
Speaking about associating with the initiative, Varun Bahl says, “Fashion for a Cause by Lakshyam has been a huge part of my life, ever since the beginning. It is an amazing way to bring together a diverse group of people, that allows us to do our part, and raise funds for a truly wonderful cause that helps protect, educate, uplift as well as empower women and children from at-risk communities.”
Shantnu & Nikhil: As couturiers advocating for social causes has been a cornerstone of our principles
Master couturiers Shantnu Mehra and Nikhil Mehra will be showcasing a collection from their bridge to luxury brands. Speaking about associating the brand with Lakshyam’s Fashion For A Cause, the designer duo say, “As couturiers advocating for social causes has been a cornerstone of our principles. Beginning 2024 with Lakshyam holds particular significance, as we strive to foster awareness and conscious thinking through our showcase.”
The presentation at the show is a meticulously crafted collection from their bridge to luxury brand S&N by Shantnu Nikhil that seeks to embody the potent spirit of young India. Speaking about the inspiration behind the collection, Shantu & Nikhil say, “Drawing inspiration from the unwavering dedication of the association’s members, we also find creative fuel in the enchanting presence of the incredible children at Lakshyam. Each piece is a testament to the strength, resilience, and hope that permeates through the cause, creating a visual narrative that echoes the profound impact of our shared commitment to social well-being.”
Rohit Bal: An interpretation of absolute beauty in its purest form
An ode to the magnificent beauty of flowers, Guldastah by Rohit Bal will sashay down the Fashion For A Cause ramp with an array of traditional and contemporary silhouettes. A collection close to his heart, Rohit has used flowers from Kashmir including sunflowers, poppies, tulips and peonies. This collection is both sensitive and ornate with an underlying sense of luxury interwoven in its many layers. It’s his interpretation of absolute beauty in its purest form.
