The Malayalam film Udal, directed by Ratheesh Raghunandan and produced by Gokulam Gopalan, is a horror and drama-thriller. The cast includes Dhyan Sreenivasan as Kiran, Indrans as Kuttichayan, and Durga Krishna as Shyni. After its theatrical release on May 20, 2022, the movie is now set to make its digital debut on an OTT platform.
The film Udal has secured its OTT rights, with producers sealing a deal with Saina Play. Viewers can stream the movie on this regional digital platform starting January 5.

The movie revolves around Shyni, who takes care of her bedridden mother-in-law along with her father-in-law, Kuttichayan. As her husband is away for work, Kiran becomes Shyni’s primary companion. But a surprising incident during one of Kiran’s visits dramatically changes the atmosphere in the house.
Reports suggest that a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Udal is in the works, featuring Naseeruddin Shah in the role played by Indrans in the original. The director of the original film, Ratheesh, is anticipated to lead the Bollywood remake. Financing for the Hindi adaptation is reported to be managed by Gokulam Gopalan, the producer of the original movie.
In the movie Udal, Indran played the role of Kuttichaayan, Dhyan Sreenivasan portrayed Kiran, and Durga Krishna depicted Shiny Chacko. The cinematography was handled by Manoj Pillai, with Nishad Yusuf in charge of editing, and William Francis composing music.
Written and directed by Ratheesh Raghunandan, VC Praveen and Baiju Gopalan served as co-producers, and Krishnamurthy played the role of executive producer.
Indrans rose to fame with films such as Apothecary, Aalorukkam, #Home, and Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan. He last appeared in the film Nona. The actor has a few films in the pipeline including Uduppu, Joy Full Enjoy, Mysore 150 Km, Nancy Rani, Kannadi Talkies, Nuna, and DNA to name a few.
