Kajal Aggarwal, who had taken a sabbatical from work following her marriage and pregnancy, is making a comeback with the film Satyabhama which will release on May 31. After that, she will also appear in the long-awaited Kamal Haasan film Indian 2. While there were reports of her being dropped out of the film, they turned out to be mere rumours.
Despite not being a native Telugu speaker, Kajal Aggarwal has carved a career for herself in the Telugu film industry, while occasionally also appearing in Hindi films. Kajal recently opened up about the mixed reaction she got after appearing for an item number in the 2016 film Janatha Garage.
The song Pakka Local from Janatha Garage had become a rage back in 2016, more so because Kajal, who was mostly known for playing the girl next door characters, shed the image to reveal her bolder style in the item song. Kajal’s appearance in an item song during the peak of her career caused a faction of fans to troll her on social media. Now, in a recent interview, Kajal has said that the only reason she agreed to appear in the Pakka Local song was because of the friendly bond she shared with lead actor Jr NTR.
Having worked with Jr NTR before in films like Baadshah, Temper and Brindavanam, Kajal shared a close bond with him and hence, when director Koratala Siva offered her the item song, she agreed since Junior NTR starred in it. She also felt that the song was a challenge for her since she had never shed inhibitions and done an item song before. Hence, she wanted to take up the challenge. Interestingly, the song Pakka Local was first offered to Tamannaah Bhatia but she could not give dates to the film.
Kajal Aggarwal further mentioned that Telugu has now become her second language. Born and raised in Mumbai, she initially struggled with the language, but through persistence and dedication, she learned to speak it fluently.
