Salman Khan 'Suddenly' Lifted Himani Shivpuri During A Hum Aapke Hain Koun Scene: 'I Gave Him A Slap...'
Himani Shivpuri said it was wonderful working with Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya’s film Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994).

Himani Shivpuri and Salman Khan first appeared together in Sooraj Barjatya’s film Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994). In a recent interview, the veteran actress recalled her time working with Salman, mentioning how he surprised her by suddenly lifting her in one scene. She also fondly remembered Salman treating the cast and crew to biryani on set.

Speaking about her experience of shooting with Salman, Himani told Bollywood Hungama, “The first time I met Salman, I remember Sooraj Barjatya explained the scene to us and he said okay. Suddenly, while filming the scene, Salman says, ‘Chachi jaan’ and he lifts me up. Since, I had a background in theatre, I reacted and I gave him a slap and all that and even Sooraj ji was surprised but he said, ‘It’s looking nice. We will keep it.’ So the next time Salman lifted me suddenly in another scene, I was prepared.”

Hum Aapke Hain Koun was produced by Sooraj Barjatya’s Rajshri Productions, which only served vegetarian meals on set. However, Salman brought biryani from home to treat the cast and crew. Himani recounted, “Salman was such a brat. It was wonderful working with him. He would also bring food from his home – biryani and all. On the sets of Hum Aapke Hai Koun, they only served vegetarian food. So, he would bring biryani on Eid and we all used to have it. He was also a big prankster.”

Recently, Mukesh Rishi, known for his roles in popular films like Sarfarosh and Sooryavansham, recently talked about working with Salman Khan in the 1990s. At that time, Salman was becoming a major star in Bollywood. They worked together in the movie Judwaa, directed by David Dhawan. Mukesh described Salman as having a “Punjabi heart.” He shared with Bollywood Bubble, “It was my first film with David Dhawan. Salman was a big star then.” He recalled that he got a lot of time to talk to Salman and said, “Salman is not the kind of guy who chills alone. If it’s a room or lobby or anywhere, he likes to chill with people. He is completely like a Punjabi in that respect. Staying together, being with friends.”
