It is the remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru. The film is a Tamil National Award-winning starring Suriya in the lead. The film was inspired by the events of G. R. Gopinath’s life, founder of the Indian low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan. The 2020 Tamil drama film was directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga, under their respective banners 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment. The story was conceptualised and written by Kongara. The film starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, and Paresh Rawal, with Mohan Babu, Urvashi, and Karunas amongst others in supporting roles.
Apart from this, Akshay Kumar also has Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which will be releasing on Eid. The teaser began with a glimpse of a terrorist attack on India’s military personnel. It then showed Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in their soldier avatar as they fought terrorism and sent out a stern warning saying, “Bachke rehna, Hindustan hai hum”. It also featured a glimpse of Prithviraj Sukumaran. He was seen sporting long hair in his black leather outfit and face covered with a mask.
The original Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was directed by David Dhawan. It starred Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in titular roles and was released in 1998. On the other hand, the new Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was announced in February 2023. Helmed by the celebrated director Ali Abbas Zafar and backed by Pooja Entertainment and AAZ films, the film promises to be the biggest blockbuster of 2024. Prithviraj Sukumaran was recently seen in Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
