Vicky Kaushal, currently basking in the praise for his latest film Sam Bahadur directed by the renowned filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, revealed a funny fan encounter. While expressing gratitude for his respectful and affectionate fans, the actor recounted an incident during a fan interaction with college students in Mumbai. He shared that a woman visited his house wearing a “laal joda” (red bridal outfit), which he described as an “endearing” gesture, though it left his parents scandalised.

When asked about the “weirdest” thing that a fan has ever done, Vicky shared with Pinkvilla, “I’ll tell you honestly that nothing weird has happened to me which I can say that it was really weird. I have heard (fan encounter) stories from others and those were really weird, luckily no such thing has happened to me. But yes, once a woman showed up at home wearing a red (bridal) outfit, however luckily I was not home at the time but my mom and dad were very scandalised.”

“But that was also very sweet, it was not worth being tensed over. It was sweet, nothing weird as such has happened to me till now. They (fans) have all been very sweet and endearing,” he added.

Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. His career in the army spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh.

Besides Vicky Kaushal, Sam Bahadur also stars Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick (as Lord Mountbatten), Richard Bhakti Klein (as Ambassador Keating), Saqib Ayub (Captain Attiqur Rahman) and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela (as Subedar Gurbaksh Singh) in key roles. It also features Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sanya Malhotra as Sam’s love interest.
