Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel Pay a Visit To The Lord Balaji Temple in Tirupati
Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel visited the Lord Balaji Temple in Tirupati having missed India's World Cup squad due to their respective injuries.

Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel are enjoying the World Cup season spiritually as the duo was recently spotted visiting the holy Lord Balaji temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Both cricketers missed out on making the squad for the World Cup at home due to fitness issues.

Pant has been recovering from a car accident that occurred late last year while Axar’s fitness was hampered by a quadriceps strain. In a fan uploaded a picture, the two cricketers now look to be in good shape as they visited the holy temple. Both Axar and Pant can be seen dressed in the traditional white of the southern region while posing for the photograph together. The image was uploaded to X by a fan who wrote, “Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel visited the Lord Balaji temple.”

Several fans reacted to the image suggesting that the duo has now indirectly contributed to India’s chances of winning their upcoming games. One of them wrote, “Another win loading for India against SA”.

A second seemed to feel Rishabh Pant’s absence from international cricket as he hoped to see the cricketer make a return soon. “Wish to see Rishabh Pant back in action soon”, he wrote.

Another reply faired the duo’s chances in the 2027 World Cup chances. He said, “Future stars of the World Cup 2027”.

A fourth wrote, “India will lift the World Cup with the blessings of Bhagwan Balaji. Namo Venkateswara”.

Rishabh Pant is one of the key figures missing from India’s World Cup campaign at home. The wicketkeeper-batter was involved in an accident after losing control of his car while travelling from Delhi to Roorkee in December 2022. Pant was then rescued by a local bus driver and moved to the nearest medical facility for a complete diagnosis.

It was reported that the player had sustained injuries on his head and right ankle. Pant has since spent the major portion of his time recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The star cricketer has been at the end of some notable wins for India in his career. His most memorable performance came against Australia at the storied Gabba Test.

Whereas, Axar Patel was a regular feature for India last year with his last performance coming in the Asia Cup against Bangladesh. The all-rounder smashed 42 runs as India before conceding the injury. This led to Ravichandran Ashwin replacing him at the marquee event in India.

Despite the key absences, India hasn’t lost a beat as they have managed seven wins on the trot in their World Cup run. They were able to take down Sri Lanka by 302 runs in their previous game thanks to a five-wicket haul from Mohammed Shami.

The Men in Blue are the first team to have secured a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament. They are scheduled to face South Africa next on November 5 at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata.
