Hours after a video of an SUV driver purposely swerving and hitting a bike rider after getting into an argument with a group of riders in Delhi emerged, the Delhi Police arrested a 25-year-old final year LLB student of a private college on Monday in connection to the rash driving incident.
Later, on the basis of surveillance, Anuj Choudhary, the man driving the car and a student of a private college, was arrested and his vehicle seized, the police added. “The accused driver has been apprehended by south district police,” M Harsha Vardhan, ADCP South told ANI news agency.
The incident, recorded by one of the bikers shows the group riding down a Delhi road when they become embroiled in an argument with a man driving a Scorpio car. The video then shows the car driver intentionally swerving his vehicle and hitting one of the bikers from the side. The biker loses control and falls off, colliding with a road divider as the car speeds away.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning, directly beneath the Arjangarh metro station in the national capital. The biker who was hit has been identified as 20-year-old Shreyansh, according to reports. He was on his way back to Delhi from a biking trip with his friends.
Shreyansh told ANI that he was driving back to Delhi from Gurugram with a group of friends when the driver began hurling insults and threats at them.
“I was returning with 8-10 of my friends from Gurugram to Delhi when he came near us and started rash driving. He threatened and verbally abused my friend. My friends slowed down a little but I drove ahead. The man sped up, hit my bike and sped away,” he told ANI.
On Sunday at 7.21 am, a PCR call was received at Fatehpur Beri Police Station reporting that a Scorpio car had hit a vehicle near the Arjangarh Metro Station, police said. When police reached the Arjangarh Metro station, they found a Royal Enfield bullet Classic 350 in damaged condition and Shreyansh injured. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, a senior police officer said.
The Delhi Police registered a case under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC at Fatehpur Beri Police Station against the driver of the Scorpio car, after the four-wheeler was identified yesterday. The victim had a complaint on Monday. “Complainant said in his statement that there was an argument b/w victim biker and car driver. We have filed an FIR u/s 307 IPC (attempt to murder) against the accused driver in Fatehpur Beri Police Station. The driver of car has been identified and we will arrest him soon,” Vardhan said in an earlier statement.
