Solar energy will now light up the official residence-cum-office of the Bihar Chief Minister in Patna.
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has opted to go green. Solar energy will now light up his official residence-cum-office in Patna. "The cabinet has approved Rs 4.5 crore for installing solar panels and other equipment," an official said.
The Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency has been assigned the work.
Last year, Nitish Kumar had expressed a desire to convert the thermal power system to a solar one.
Officials say that new and renewable energy sources have the potential to generate around 2,000 MW of power in the state.
