Both allegedly worked against party candidates in the just-concluded Assembly election.

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party on Monday expelled two of its office-bearers for six years for alleged anti-party activities, an SP spokesman said.

Both of them worked against party candidates in the just-concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, SP leader Rajendra Chowdhury told reporters in Lucknow.

"Party Uttar Pradesh chief Akhilesh Yadav has expelled Khadag Singh Patel, former district president Kaushambi, and Iliyas Ansari, former general secretary, Kushi Nagar, for their involvement in anti-party activities," he said.
